A piece of sky

Pile gold until the clouds,
Yet only end up upside down.
Land is purchased, one may buy,
Yet who may own a piece of sky?

Relegation

Relegate my words to flame,
And pile up the ash
Then not just me, but family tree,
Our teeth will surely gnash.

Fear it, my spirit!  Oh don't you come near it!
Quake when you hear it, this cautioning lyric.

Toe the line

Sans you and due to all my sin,
They would never let me in.
Heaven don't admit my kind,
Since you, it's true, I toe the line.

Desire

Grant me that which I desire.
Let me stand next to your fire.
Like the moth unto the flame,
Immolate me just the same.

Between

To find the exit from this loop,
I think I'll follow only truth.
A man, he can, be proven weak,
And truth eludes the one who seeks.

Pursue and search, it's best to find.
Where X is marked, it's best to mine.
And treasure surfaced from between,
It shimmers, yet cannot be seen.
